A collar that won't slip over the ears
A collar loose enough to pull over the head is a dog loose off the leash. For thick-necked breeds it slips off backwards; for slim heads it rides off forward.
Measure around the base of the neck where a collar naturally sits. We set the buckle mid-range so there's room to adjust either way.
